My name is

Erika Lampkin-Piagetti.

Originally from New York, I have made South Florida my home since 1999.  In 1997, I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Biology, Psychology and Sociology at the University of Stony Brook in NY. As I was preparing for nursing school, I quickly realized that midwifery was my true calling. I knew I was meant to help families have the most holistic and honoring birth experience. Guiding both mother and baby; listening to her body, mind and soul is how I believe optimal health and wellness is achieved during the pre, peri and postnatal period.

After college, I completed my studies at the International School of Midwifery in Miami, FL and became a Licensed Midwife in 2001. As part of my own personal growth, I also became a Certified Professional Midwife.  I have served women and their babies at birth centers and at home, both in the United States and as a missionary abroad. I am fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese.

On a personal note, I have been a homeschooling mother of 7. I love all things homeopathic and enjoy spending time at the beach, eating good food and laughing with family and friends. I am a woman of faith who practices evidence based midwifery and believes that safe birth experiences can be out of the hospital for healthy, low risk women. I consider myself blessed to have witnessed and participated in hundreds of births not only of a baby but of the birth of a new mother and father as well. I am committed to safeguarding and serving this new family.

I am blessed to witness and participate in not only the birth of a baby but of a mother and father as well.
